Sandra Beasley won the 2007 New Issues Poetry Prize for her book Theories of Falling, selected by Marie Howe. Her poems have been featured on Verse Daily and in journals such as SLATE, The Believer, and AGNI online. Awards for her work include the Maureen Egen Writers Exchange Award from Poets &Writers, the Elinor Benedict Poetry Prize, and fellowships to the Sewanee Writers' Conference, the Millay Colony and VCCA. She lives in Washington, D.C.
