Factbook

I'm playing with blue plums
that are not plums
but things lost track of.

These are facts
I'm putting down.
Loved. Out of love.

You are reading a Joan Didion novel.
I am eating a sandwich.
You go to community college.
I am sleeping with another woman.
I once saw Evel Knievel.

He was wearing his constellatory jumpsuit
and motorbiking over what for him
must have been a manageable distance.
