What is rescue?
Who (or what) needs

to be saved? What of it?
Of you? This water you are

immersed in. This cleansing chill.
Your flesh feels fed by something

larger than itself it feeds
into, flows out of. And back.

Enough salt in you to float.
What divides ah! from awe?

Leads from sight to insight?
What of your self do you expect

to save? Where is it
water begins—to? as?—wave.
