Nicky Beer is the author of The Octopus Game and The Diminishing House, both winners of the Colorado Book Award for Poetry. She's received awards from the NEA and the Poetry Foundation, and her work has appeared in The New Yorker, The Nation , Best American Poetry, and elsewhere. An associate professor at CU Denver, she edits poetry for Copper Nickel. She was raised on Long Island Dunkin' Donuts.
