Ventouse Sous Verre

                                                    Sucker under glass

Those empty, aubergine-edged saucers, her best,
in sundry sizes,          are precisely tessellated
and creepingly uncountable.                She has laid you

a table d'hote of these ghost-courses against
the glass,                      which is imperceptible without her,
heavy-lidded proprietress who is all raised
                                                              hem and no flirt.
