Michael McFee’s eleventh book of poetry is We Were Once Here. His second collection of essays, Appointed Rounds, is forthcoming from Mercer University Press. A recipient of the James Still Award for Writing about the Appalachian South, he teaches at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
