Today's poem is by Gary L. McDowell

Ovaries

The body of water that cries
in search, unable to breathe.

Broken, can you ask for more?
Water crying, water

for the mouth. It’s why
we have throats. If I am

without the body my voice
will die and shake off stars

or fall one half of a year.
I am what I fear to be. I am a loop.
