Jean R. Sampson has lived in the same house in downtown Charlottesville her whole life. Both poet and painter, she has a studio at the McGuffy Art Center, where she attended elementary school in the 1950's. A teacher of classes in drawing and painting, she is also a co-founder of the Live Poets group.
