Faith Beside the River

Robins flock in winter
favoring survival

over isolation
blossoming from bare trees

with the humility
of tender blossoms

while the river's split ribs
of ice reach toward each

other for a brief frozen
embrace. Somewhere

there are trees
with dried berries,

the clustered robins,
together, will find them.
