Today's poem is by Marina Tsvetaeva, translated by Christina Davis

[ Worry-Worn: God ]

Worry-worn: god
for once paused
pleased. The creator
of the plenty of angels

(every last radiant-veined
one of them) saw
how some grew engulfed
by their own wings,

while others (women
heaving stunted
breasts) flapped
their nothing feathers.

He did not put
the differences on them.
Is not the reason
I cry. I weep

because more than even
god, I worship
the messengers.
