Self-Deceit

It's not important, neither here nor there.
I do not give a monkey's or a damn.
I am not interested, I do not care.

I am as independent as the air.
The world is full of hypocrites and sham.
It's not important, neither here nor there.

My raison d'etre would be laisser faire
If only I could rise above the jam.
I am not interested. I do not care.

The newspapers are full of the affair.
How many scruples in a milligram?
It's not important, neither here nor there.

Why bother with your looks or what you wear?
The human body is an aging ham.
I am not interested. I do not care.

Beyond the constructs we agree to share
You ask me who on earth I think I am.
It's not important, neither here nor there.
I am not interested. I do not care.
