from Mixed Plate

Wesleyan University Press

Faye Kicknosway, Morgan Blair to her students at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa, has authored eleven books of poetry. One of them, Who Shall Know Them?, inspired by Walker Evans’s photographs, was short-listed for the Pulitzer Prize. Faye Kicknosway was also a contributor to the ground-breaking feminist anthology No More Masks! (1973).

About Mixed Plate:

"Turning the body inside out with both mental and physical discourse/intercourse, Faye Kicknosway’s poems lead us first through desire and titillation then straight into despair before the reader finds any salvation. The journey will ravish you."
—William L. Fox

"Faye Kicknosway's materials arrive into her world rough and charged with real and potential powers… I have been reading her work for a long time and I'm greedily gluttonishly elated by the pleasure of having it all in a big book."
—Andrei Codrescu
