Today's poem is by Emma Bolden

Theism

Someone stole the wind & the sky
was relieved, to be honest. It isn't easy

to live that way, inside a reminder of what
you could be if you just put in the effort.

Outside the garden lodged a complaint,
all the bluebells ringing until the daffodils

downed themselves. What a disgrace.
If I didn't know better I'd think the world

knew what it was doing, fucking up my day
with this bright trash. On a branch somewhere

a bluebird's singing. I don't trust him
because I know he knows the words.

It isn't easy. To realize alone isn't the reason
you're lonely.
