Leslie Gerber was born in Brooklyn in 1943 but moved to Woodstock in 1970. He has made his living selling and publishing recordings of classical music as Parnassus Records. Recent issues include "Black Swans," 100 year old recordings by Black classical musicians, and "Great Musicians of Ukraine." He graduated from Brooklyn College with a B.A. in Creative Writing, but only began writing poetry in 1999, encouraged by his late wife, Tara McCarthy, a successful professional writer. He has also written thousands of music reviews and program notes. He has three children, two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild with another one on the way!
