Alicia Ostriker has published nineteen collections of poetry, most recently Waiting for the Light and The Volcano and After: Selected and New Poems 2002-2019. She was twice nominated for a National Book Award and twice received the National Jewish Book Award, among other honors. She was New York State Poet Laureate in 2018-2021. She lives in New York City with her husband Jerry, an astrophysicist.
