Today's poem is by Maram Al-Masri translated by Hèlène Cardona

I no longer have the patience

I no longer have the patience
to do the housework
I no longer have the energy
to take out the trash
I no longer have the spirit
to put up with jokes
that don't make me laugh
I no longer have the strength to give birth
to wishes that color the day
nor have I a breast that gives milk

So I swing my arms
and there is no child in my lap
I look out a window
I haven't cleaned for a long time
The world is cold
