Today's poem is by Stella Vinitchi Radulescu

like history a poem

        I, too, sing America.

        I am the darker brother.

                -Langston Hughes

cats sleep
close the door to the attic

the noise comes from my mouth
straight talk & sounds

of rage

humans drinking human
blood

& monsters wear the crown
In God We Trust

I am caged in words
like history:

voices     you     don't shiver
bury the corpses

the Evil     my yellow shoes—
yellow for the eternal

walk:     the TV zoom zoom

barbarians on the road
my neighbors hanging their clothes

the sun &
the cltohesline     lines

lines—
disruption in time don't blink
stay tuned
keep thinking     fill up the void
a syllable is worth a life

& drink their milk babies are coming
babies like funeral stones     hey, joy

you've lost your y

a strike in Heaven     Dante
says is divine
