Today's poem is by Joyce Sutphen

First Snow

I was at my desk, thinking,
which caused me to miss
the first snow that fell
on the still green bush
outside my window.

And then I looked up
to see a steady fall
of faintest white already
covering the roof
across the street.

It was so slight a snow
it seemed that there
was nothing in the air
until it made of everything
a page as blank as this.
