Peter Schmitt is the author of six collections of poems, including Goodbye, Apostrophe (Regal House). He has received The "Discovery"/The Nation (92nd Street Y) Prize, The Lavan Award from The Academy of American Poets, and The Julia Peterkin Award, among others. His work has appeared in such journals as The Hudson Review, The Nation, The Paris Review, Ploughshares, Poetry, and The Southern Review.
