Today's poem is by Zach Savich

On Coffee Alone

I decided coffee alone will not heal me
Is there sugar
I saw a caterpillar gone to translucent lengths
And the peculiar blue of salon posters long in a window

I threw a stone at a bass stuck between rocks
How else could I free it
I saw a red-winged blackbird it'd be a red-winged blackbird
Without wings

The bicyclists without brakes
Gather boughs at the peak
They drag them behind to slow
They break apart like sparks
