Today's poem is by Lois M. Harrod

Large Reclining Nude
        after Matisse's Pink Nude

I said to him I said
why did you make me so big
and why did you make
the white bedspread
look like a black and white
tiled floor, do you want
people to think I let you take
me in the kitchen, you know
there is no way I could fit
between the refrigerator
and the sink, there
just isn't enough room there
to jam me, the size of that body,
and he said,
sometimes you seem
that big to me.
