Ars Poetica II

The world         asks us                 to carry its weight
on our way through         it we                 ask everyone
for forgiveness                 even though at times         we know
that's not what                 we need or                 even want
we want             the world to know         what it means to
be us           to bear our                 names the way
the back wears                 scourged scars         Light lift
me up                 one last time                I have asked for
more than one                 of anything can         hold
