Necropastoral With Autobiographical Elements
        After Muriel Leung

After becoming transacted, I decide to make myself
an availability.

I sleep with one hundred tiny men, all of whom
are identical.

I'm a good girl: I take my tablets as prescribed, fold
my body

into increasingly intricate arrays. Like the story
of the girl

found at the bottom of a well, I eventually
become a burning.

Her bones clacking like glass. I measure the distance
between hips

as a way of feigning knowledge. I stroke their little
beards.

My foot slick with wellwater, dripping.
