Minotaur's Love Song

I want the world to be my father.

My father to be the world
to hear my infinitesimal
blood rushing to meet his
on the other side of skin.

No one asks why I was made
after the eclipse, as my mother
walked into the ocean
her shoulders the only sliced moons
shivering on the water.

She, the only light.

Was it darkness who fathered me there?

By the ocean, a water spume
bleeds into a cave, a stone lip
juts over the water. The fish a foamy panic,
I slip myself in.

Tides, be my father tonight.
Father, be my swell, father be
my knuckles, father be my churning.

Tell me this string of selves ends in light.
