Today's poem is by Jo Sarzotti

Lana Turner

Everyone knows her secret:
Chiffon with a knife in it.
Silver-beaded satin clutch
Pressed shut.

In her closet, platoons of blouses,
Batteries of skirts, slim soles
Scuffed by asphalt, ballroom wax,
Accelerator pedal.

Revenge is white fox, platinum,
Skin silken
In the closest lens,
Cool under hot lights.

She takes refuge on the beach,
The giant flower of Malibu.
At night, lines of white foam,
Stars in dark matter.
