Today's poem is by Gary Percesepe

how you died out in me

slowly,
like the last star
shivering in the
black sky

eyes like lamps
inside me
at the point
where one says
never

down to the last
worn out
knot of breath

not there, with a
splinter
of life

in the cross of
your arms everything
fell into you

then dimmed

out of a
thousand
light years
a few
minutes
remained

to know what you
gave to me
with no idea
what you
received
