Today's poem is by Jennifer O'Grady

Two Birds Mating In A Rhododendron Bush

If only it could be
as simple as this:

                            flicker of gray wings

between green
egg-shaped leaves,

                            branches unbloomed,

almost prepared
to increase themselves,

                            leaves fluttering too

but tethered
in the still wet garden,

                            the two of them

unashamed
and unafraid,

                            temporarily
                            and partially sheltered

here

                            beneath the unattached sky.
