Today's poem is by Nina Puro

elegy with linden tree three-years' dead still standing

noon like the wind
had a seam in it

men rolls of
concertina wire

house
born under
a bad star

women
a silk slip pooled
on hardwood warm

a year
borne
in a bad house

unter das
whose streets?
H&M

were it I meant enough
to be snipped
out of the photo

instead of
never in it

blown years
all those
cakes with
names on them

other girls
know how to
eat

in the movies the sidekick says
go on without me—don't look back!

I'm saying that
to all of you
