Joy Priest is a writer from Louisville, Kentucky. She is the winner of the 2016 Hurston/Wright Foundation's College Writers Award, and a 2015 Kentucky Arts Council Emerging Artist Award. Joy has received grants, scholarships, and fellowships from the Fine Arts Work Center, the Bread LoafWriters' Conference, and the University of South Carolina where she is a writing instructor and MFA candidate in poetry. Her work has appeared or is upcoming in Best New Poets 20I4 & 20I6, The BreakBeat Poets, Blackbird, Callaloo, Drunken Boat, and Muzzle, among others.
