Today's poem is by Maurice Harmon

In Good Times or In Bad

In good times or in bad,
Hail, rain or shine,
Made use of what she had.

Took the happy with the sad,
Sought light from the Divine,
In good times or in bad.

In marriage she was glad
— his fists left no sign —
Made use of what she had.

Pretending she was sad,
Nursed him in decline,
In good times or in bad.

Got religion like a fad,
Forever going to church,
Made use of what she had.

Found a lively lad,
Loved her for herself,
In good times or in bad,
Made use of what she had.
