Today's poem is by Sheila McMullin

Bad Woman, lineal question variation

When I sleep you are in the scene.
You are white light behind the scene.

You have always been me
and I ask a different question about love.

Through the corners I exist as object
of direction, as disembodied perspective.

You were involved in my birth
though I do not know your name,

I did not know you knew my name.
I am a daughter oflineage.

Stitch patches of water along me.
Bloom a ginger flower.

The green ginger root wrapped in plastic
is only doing what it has done before.

I put the ginger flower into my mouth.
Orchards bloom inside me.
