Today's poem is by Elaine Sexton

Resident

I take steel blue
& titanium white

back to my room.
The prospect of paint

is the refuge
of ideas. The sun loads

the mountain
chestnut

leaves with light,
the other nut

trees stand
in the dark.

Cloudage.
The death of spring

is exposure,
bars of what drops

from the sky
bands where

the hail falls, then rain,
then night.
