The Old Happiness
       

bring back the old happiness
you remember the one

no inner organs laboring
no struggling of the years to come

at yesterday's service for a man
who ended his life, then lingered

the best moment not the kindly
sprightly silver pastor

but the trio of grandchildren
doing a Beatles number, swaying,

pretty much on key and warbling away
in the dialect of the old happiness
