Charles Simic is the author of thirty-two books of poetry, most recently New and Selected Poems: 1962-2012 (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, 2013). He has won many awards, among them the Pulitzer Prize, the MacArthur Foundation "genius grant," the Griffin International Poetry Prize, and the Wallace Stevens Award. He has been U.S. Poet Laureate.
