Today's poem is by Trey Moody

Dear—

I said Ghost because I couldn't
say anything better. I said
I'd wait a while but I

was clearly wrong. If convenience
mattered most, I would've eaten my fruit
in silence, but I said Fast

as if I had a choice. Then
I said Sleep with my childhood voice.
Dreams came, or they

were already there. So I said Sickness
which was what I meant. I'd say
I was accurate but only

in attempt. I thought
and I thought. I said Ghost because,
once, I could not.
