Transcendence

Prolific ellipse manufacturers
deliver their latest creation.
The whole town turns out to greet them.

Elbows are greased.
Headlines are fashioned.
Helmets are screwed on and
heroic skin divers plunge into the crowd.

Everyone gets their own ellipse.
From that point on, it's smooth sailing.

You have never seen so many happy
people, arcing through space as if
this little town were sitting on the
floor of an aquarium.
