Stephanie E. Schlaifer is originally from Atlanta, Georgia and has an MFA in poetry from the Iowa Writers' Workshop. Her poems have recently appeared in or a forthcoming from Verse, Chicago Review, and Colorado Review, among others. Her manuscript, Clarkston St. Polaroids, was finalist for the Tupelo Press First/Second Book Award (2011) and the Beatrice Hawley Prize from Alice James Books (2010). She is currently working on a series of poems about historical weather events and a collection of children's books in verse.
