Today's poem is by Kevin Higgins

God Has Put You on Hold

And the world has no room
for the things you cannot forgive
in the hour of ropes and razorblades
the priest stuffs his suitcase

with things you cannot forgive.
All you have left are jokes blacker
than the priest stuffing his suitcase
as the water comes under the living room door

all you have left are jokes blacker
than having to rely on the generosity of the bankrupt
as the water comes under the living room door
you're a child playing with matches

and the generosity of the bankrupt.
In the hour of ropes and razorblades
you're a child playing with matches
and the world has no room.
