Bee Prophecy

Walking through summer fir and aspen
thinking of something I'll never remember

lost in some other life entering
a small meadow white and yellow

I stepped into a haze of bees
that parted easily as air

wings and fur brushing my skin
as I went in deeper deeper

afraid to stop or turn back
unable to see the end

barely breathing the swarming
filling my mouth with fuzzed speech

I say what I can it was leaf
lungs and sky a shining

hive we live inside
