Today's poem is by C. E. Perry

Sunday at the Boat Building School

When a garden of amputees feels
the rudderless shadow of a seagull,

the accelerated permission
of the bird wakes up

loose and right and disobedient,
dipping into the uneven light

where our besotted wasp, not
ours at all, chews wet wood.
