Today's poem is by Ian Harris

Lake Powell, AZ

From the canyon rim
I can hear the margarita blenders
of houseboats I wish destruction on.

For them to be visited upon
by a biblical wave. Oh holy day.
For the river to fill with snowbirds

clinging to sandwich fixings and flesh-
colored medical equipment,
pill dispensers, small dogs, birds of paradise

that are not birds but flowers that are not flowers
but floral motifs. Sofa cushions. Oh holy day.
May they float away and float away.
