Brenda Shaughnessy is is the author of Interior with Sudden Joy and Human Dark with Sugar (Copper Canyon Press 2008), which won the 2007 James Laughlin Award. Her poems have been published in Bomb, Conjunctions, McSweeney's, the New Yorker, the Paris Review and elsewhere. She is poetry editor of Tin House magazine and Tin House Books and has taught poetry at many institutions, including Eugene Lang College and Princeton University. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband and son.
