A Guess Is Spiritual Then, & Will Try to Help You

Two pregnant women are walking together under the portico.
Early summer. In the cool of the evening.
Making a kind of meaning of it.

But let's start simpler. Let's start
with the sidewalk.

Pay no mind to the barking dogs.

Somewhere near the unthinkable beginning,
where grace might come from.

Some light is yellow Interior gold.
In total, this all sounds like great progress.

Then they start on the journey. We are going,
they say, into the advancing territory
where all probabilities arrive.

Indeed, this is significant progress.
The amnesia of longing.

And we'd all love to get together there,
and share photographs
amid the balloons and folding chairs,

watching the flashlights bobbing in the field.
