Elizabeth Cox's fourth and most recent novel is The Slow Moon (2006). One story from her collection Bargains in the Real World (2001) was selected for The O. Henry Prize Stories. She has written essays for Ms. Magazine, Lears, North Carolina Magazine, and Oxford American, and her poetry has appeared in Atlantic Monthly, Southern Poetry Review, Kentucky Review, The Southern Review, and others. She teaches at Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
