Today's poem is by Donald Revell

Clement

Bird alights, bee alights, child shouts
"For a limited time, free water!"
My dear neighbor's arm talks in the dirt.
He's building something: houses for turtles.

So early,
The sun shines at ground level and all trees
Are lit from beneath. To Larry Eigner,
If he were alive, I would say
The Americans just aren't anymore
Taller than the cars they drive.

And he would say in reply or Christ would say
Never you worry. Late as it is, 2004,
Early this morning a bread truck climbed a hill
In southern Califonia, and you saw it.
