Phillis Levin is the author of three poetry collections, most recently Mercury (Penguin, 2001), and is the editor of The Penguin Book of the Sonnet (Penguin, 2001). She has completed her forth volume of poems, entitled, Zeno in the Dark, and is now working on new poems and essays. The recipient of a 2003 Guggenheim Fellowship, she is the poet-in residence at Hofstr University and also teaches in the graduate writing program at New York University.
