Mimi Khalvati trained at Drama Center London and has worked as an actor and director in the UK and Iran. Her Carcanet collections include In White Ink (1991), Mirrorwork (1995), for which she received an Arts Council of England Writer's Award, and Entries on Light (1997). Her Selected Poems was published in 2000 and her most recent collection, The Chine, in 2002. She is the founder and coordinator of The Poetry School, which offers poetry workshops and courses in London. She is also the co-editor of the school's two anthologies of new writing, Tying the Song and Entering the Tapestry, published by Enitharmon Press in 2000 and 2003.
