Mary Makofske is an assistant professor of English at Orange County Community College in New York. She is the author of Eating Nasturtiums (1998) and The Disappearance of Gargoyles (1988). She is also the recipient of the Robert Penn Warren Poetry Prize, the Lullwater Review Poetry Prize, and the Spoon River Review Poetry Prize. Her poems have appeared in Poetry, Mississippi Review, and the North American Review.
