Linda Hogan is a Chickasaw writer and environmentalist who grew up in Oklahoma and Colorado. She is a poet, novelist, playwright, essayist and short-story writer. Her novelMean Spirit won the 1991 Oklahoma Book Award and was one of three finalists for the Pulitzer Prize in 1991. She received a 2002 Wordcraft Circle Writer of the Year in the creative category for The Woman Who Watches Over The World: A Native Memoir.
