About Dark Track:

"Dark Track is a wonderful book. I love how Julia Wendell has found a way to bring together her passion for horses with her passion for poetry. She writes from deep experience and long intimate acquaintance with both worlds. The music in her poems is both sure and inviting and seems to emerge from the very spirits and bodies of the horses she knows and loves so well. Her poems embody a world that few of us know: we have finished Dark Track it is a world we would never want to forget."
—Jim Moore

"These are powerful and direct poems that speak with the force of wisdom and experience."
—Michael Collier
